Is satillite radio destroying the local radio stations?

In the last year or so, my local radio stations have lost almost half of their music playlist and our alternative/techno station actually closed down. I actually heard one DJ tell a listener that he wasn’t allowed to play certain songs anymore that have been staples for years at that station. Is this the result of XM and Serious selling the music or has the music industry just become greedy and stingy?

Can someone suggest a college in Texas for me?

I want to attend a 4-year college in Texas and attain a Bachelor’s Degree in Radio/Television/Film or Broadcasting. In the future, I hope to become a News Anchor or a Radio DJ. Can someone please provide me with a list of Texas colleges that have great RTVF programs that would fit my prospective career? Any help is GRATLY appreciated! Thank you so much!
There are a couple reasons why I want to stay in Texas. One - my cousin went to a school in California, nearly died due to a medical mishap, and we (her family) couldn’t get to her easily because she was so far away. Two - ALL of my family lives in Texas, and I didn’t want to go too far away, at least at first. Three - out of state tuition is shooting through the roof. Four - I love Texas!
I do love to travel, so I don’t feel that I’m limiting myself because I travel across the country a lot; I just would prefer a college in Texas!

How come they never did a movie based on the Big Bopper’s life?

There are 2 movies that are based on the lives of Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens. They did the Buddy Holly Story, and La Bamba. The Buddy Holly Story has a bunch of inaccuracies, and plus it will end the same, with the 3 singers getting killed in a plane crash, no matter how they handle how to do it, like show the events leading up from between the concert at the Surf Ballroom to when the plane crashes, where we might even hear the annoucement of the sad news in the film. I believe that JP Richardson aka the Big Bopper only had one hit, but what is intresting is that he worked as a radio DJ before he became a singer. But why do you think that his life story has never been told in a movie, when Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens’ lives were both told in 2 movies.

Anyone here from HOUSTON TX who remembers KLOL 101 FM legendary DJ “CRASH”?

I just thought about him out of the blue for the first time in several years after remember ing those cool looking KLOL bumper stickers of the antique radio with feet looking like it was strolling along and the bold KLOL typeface in green!
I looked on the net about DJ Crash to no avail, but did learn that the former rock 101 fm KLOL now spins a whole different genre of music since 2004, pretty much killing off the old KLOL format.
I have not lived in the area for years, but do remember the very distinctive DJ Crash, a.k.a. “Crash in your dash”.
I heard rumors about his wild lifestyle befitting a 70’s era DJ, and then I seem to recall him getting canned over something related to excess living, and then he showed back up on the air for awhile circa 1986 or so, after that I lost track.
Anyone know what became of the legendary Crash of KLOL fame?
AS for the first guy who responded and claims that Crash is no longer with us, I have no proof and my gut feeling on that answer is he is either just being sarcastic or just spamming for a website. I’d like a link to a story if it is true…but I kinda doubt it as I would have found something myself.

Internet Radio to AM-FM Radio DJ?

DJ classes for an amateur?

FYI… not a radio DJ, but rather a nightclub or party music DJ.
